Patterned Villa Bathroom — Waimauku, Auckland
A classic black-and-white patterned bathroom, tiled floor-to-wall in a Waimauku villa and built to last.
Want to see what a bold patterned floor looks like when every tile actually lines up? This Waimauku villa bathroom in West Auckland pairs timeless black-and-white porcelain with a matching feature wall, a freestanding bath and a fully waterproofed finish — traditional character with modern durability.

A Timeless Black-and-White Bathroom
This Waimauku bathroom showcases the timeless appeal of classic black-and-white patterned porcelain tiles — a striking space that blends traditional villa charm with modern durability. The patterned floor flows seamlessly into the feature wall, adding depth and character while complementing the freestanding bath and elegant fixtures.
The challenge with a bold repeating pattern is alignment. Our team set out every tile so the pattern runs true across the floor and carries onto the feature wall without a break — the detail that separates a tidy job from a genuinely stunning one.

The Tiling & Waterproofing Work
Behind a calm, seamless finish sits a lot of careful preparation. On this project our scope included:
- Bathroom waterproofing — an ARDEX waterproofing system applied and cured before a single tile went on, so the whole wet area is sealed beneath the finish.
- Full floor & wall tiling — set out so the pattern runs true across the floor and the joints stay consistent from floor to wall.
- Feature wall tiling — the floor pattern carried up onto the wall so the space reads as one continuous design.
- Precision pattern alignment — every tile positioned so the repeating black-and-white pattern stays unbroken around the bath, fixtures and corners.
- Epoxy grouting — a harder-wearing, stain-resistant grout that keeps the pattern crisp for years.
- Silicone finishing — clean, flexible seals at every internal junction.

Marko on the tools in the Waimauku bathroom — the same room shown in the before-and-after photos below, with every wall and the floor set out in the patterned format.
