A Refined, Timeless Sanctuary
This luxury bathroom renovation in Pt Chevalier shows the impact expert tiling has on a refined, timeless space. Designed by Kirsty Vegas Design with premium finishes and elegant detailing, the bathroom brings together natural textures, high-quality materials and meticulous craftsmanship — a sanctuary that is both beautiful and built to last.
Tarara Tiling completed the tiling with a strong focus on precision, symmetry and long-lasting performance. Every tile was carefully set for clean lines, consistent joints and a flawless finish that lets the design speak for itself.
The Tiling & Waterproofing Work
Behind a calm, seamless finish sits a lot of careful preparation. On this project our scope included:
- Premium waterproofing system — applied and cured before a single tile went on, so the whole wet area is fully sealed beneath the finish.
- Full wall and floor tiling — set out so lines run true across the room and joints stay consistent from floor to wall.
- Tiled shower — falls, junctions and detailing worked to drain cleanly and stay watertight.
- Feature wall installation — laid out for symmetry so the focal wall reads as one clean plane.
- Precision tile layout — planned around fixtures, niches and corners to keep full tiles where they matter and avoid awkward cuts.
- Epoxy grouting — a harder-wearing, stain-resistant grout, colour-matched to the tile.
- Silicone finishing — clean, flexible seals at every internal junction.
Why waterproofing comes first. In a bathroom, the tiling everyone sees is only as good as the waterproofing no one sees. We fully waterproof and cure before tiling — the detail Kirsty singled out in her review below. It’s the difference between a bathroom that looks good on day one and one that stays sound for years.
The Design — Kirsty Vegas Design
The overall project was designed by Kirsty Vegas Design, whose brief brought together natural textures and premium materials into a warm, timeless palette. We worked to that vision, translating the design into precise, durable tilework.
